The year 2016 has dawned, with Yemen grappling with severe economic and humanitarian crisis after one year of war and most of Yemeni families in need of humanitarian assistance. An estimated 21 million Yemenis are in desperate need of humanitarian aid. The international organizations operating in Yemen still largely lack coordination and field work mechanisms. Many such outfits seemingly sought to distribute what little quantities of aid they have, which are not enough to meet the actual needs of people in need of such assistance. Further, such organizations don't take into account how to access the most disadvantaged groups which are most desperate for aid. April saw a slight improvement on sea navigation as the volume of imports rose 15 percent compared to the previous month, with the Yemeni rial dipping as against foreign currencies.
